May 01, 2009 | MONICAL’S INTRODUCES GLUTEN-FREE PIZZA

BRADLEY, IL, May 1, 2009 - It's no secret that the gluten-free diet
continues to be the fastest growing food movement in the United States.
Celiac Disease affects at least 1 in 133 Americans, although only 1 in 4,700
is ever diagnosed.  Despite the fact that around 3 million Americans have
the disease, there is still a tremendous lack of awareness and understanding
regarding both the condition and its treatment—a gluten-free diet.

Monical’s Pizza will be a part of that movement, with their introduction of
a brand new, gluten-free pizza on Monday, May 4, 2009.  “We are very excited
to offer a gluten-free pizza in our Central Illinois restaurants,” says Pat
Alvey, Director of Product Development.  “We are happy that we can now
provide a delicious pizza for all of our gluten-intolerant guests to enjoy.”

The gluten-free option will be a welcome addition to Monical’s Family
Pleasing menu, and is available as a 10.5” thin-crust pizza.  Special
handling procedures, including designated pans, utensils and cutting board,
have been designed to control cross-contamination.   A full variety of
toppings are available, and Monical’s signature sauce and herbs complete the
gluten-free pizza.  Monical’s understands that a lack of wheat doesn’t have
to mean a lack of flavor, and this new menu item is right in line with their
“People Pleasing People” mission.

Headquartered in Bradley, Illinois, Monical’s Pizza currently has 62
restaurants in three states, and continues to expand their menu and their
business.
